The Year 11,12 and 13 Art students were fortunate to visit Watts Gallery and Studio as part of their course this week. We looked at the main house and the work done by Mary and George Watts including his studio which has been set up just as he would have had it when he was working. Everyone then took part in a print making workshop where we were able to create our own designs for a tote bag.
After lunch we were taken around the Gallery and during our tour were able to talk about the composition, media and meaning behind the work.
The Gallery Stewards commented on the impeccable behaviour of the students and how well they represented the College.
It was a fantastic day which will certainly help with our coursework.
