Extra-Curricular Dance

KS3 Dance

All students in years 7, 8 and 9 are welcome. We will work towards performances to be showcased in various performances. Students will have the opportunity to suggest styles they would like to learn and it is a great chance for students to participate in dance classes to extend their knowledge and have fun with their friends.

Dance Company

All previous Dance Company members are welcome to continue with the extra-curricular opportunity. In Dance Company we focus on extending pupils' abilities and feature all students in the production for that year. We study a wide variety of styles and work towards improving technique and performance skills. Students from any year group are welcome but will need to go through an audition process if they would like to be involved.

Extra-Curricular Music

At Christ's College Guildford we are ENRICHING LIVES through Music, by running multiple choirs and instrumental sessions each week.

Tuesday Choir

Tuesday Mornings from 08:15am to 09:00am in the Music Room 2.09. This has been predominantly for girls but everyone is welcome. It is an all-comers choir so you just need to turn up to be included. We learn pop and contemporary songs for performance.

Show Choir

Thursday Mornings from 08:15am to 09:00am in the Music Room 2.09. This has been predominantly for boys but we have had an ever increasing number of girls attending over the last two years. It is an all-comers choir so you just need to turn up to be included. We learn songs from Theatre, T.V. and Movies for performance.

Chapel Choir

Wednesday Mornings from 08:15am to 09:00am in the Music Room 2.09.  This is our only auditioned choir. We are looking for the top 10% of singers in the school to develop their potential as choristers in a more structured fashion. We learn songs from liturgy, all musical periods and styles for performance, and use in liturgies and religious celebrations.

Instrumental Ensemble

String Ensemble is held after school on Mondays from 15:15 to 16:30 in the Music Room 2.09. Anybody interested in learning how to play a stringed instrument (violin, viola, cello, double bass) should attend. We would like 20 new starters this year. If you have some experience then please also attend. It is totally free and the school will provide you with an instrument to play and practice with. You may also qualify for free lessons as well as this ensemble. Just turn up Monday at 3:15pm and we will enroll you, FOR FREE.

Brass Ensemble

Brass Ensemble is held after school on Wednesdays from 15:15 to 16:30 in the Music Room 2.09. Anybody interested in learning how to play a brass instrument (cornet, trumpet, french horn, tuba, trombone) should attend. We would like 20 new starters this year. If you have some experience then please also attend. It is totally free and the school will provide you with an instrument to play and practice with. You may also qualify for free lessons as well as this ensemble. Just turn up Wednesday at 3:15pm and we will enroll you, FOR FREE.
