The 2022 Gymnastics British Championships, took place between 24th-27th March at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, and on the Thursday and Friday, brothers Oli and Ben Porter took part in their age group competitions. 

Oli performed really well on the Thursday of the competition and finished 15th in the Under 16 All Around Competition (which is the accumulation of points of all 6 apparatus), and placed in the top 10 on two of the apparatus (8th on Floor and 9th on High Bar).

Ben competed in the Under 14 Competition on Friday and came 1st to become the Under 14 All Around British Champion. He also won Gold on Pommel and Silver on Rings.

Ben said: “It’s been a really good result I’m really happy with myself. The crowd definitely motivated me to do well. Pommel was my favourite today, I really had to fight so I was very proud to complete that. My coaches and teammates really motivated me. I’m looking forward to kicking on now for the rest of the year.”

Both boys performed in the younger year group in their age categories (they will compete next year in the same age categories but as the older year group) which made their achievements even more incredible!!
