Friends of Christ's College PTA (Parent Teacher Association)
Welcome! Friends Of Christ's College (FCC) is the college “PTA”, a collection of parents and teachers who volunteer time to support the college financially and at school events.
FCC is an essential part of our college community working throughout the year raising vital funds for the benefit of all Christ's College students.
We are a social, friendly group who rely on volunteers. As a parent or carer you are automatically a member of the FCC – as are all members of school staff. We have a committee of about 12 closely involved with the management of funds, event planning and organisation and a further 40 on our list of volunteers. Any help our community can offer is very much appreciated.
Christ's College boasts an incredible array of talented parents and the FCC aim to draw on the skill and expertise of our community to support the school and enhance school life.

FCC Meetings
FCC committee meet locally on a monthly basis to discuss our fundraising budgets, plan upcoming event support and liaise with students via our teachers who suggest where funds can be spent. We welcome any parents or carers who could offer specific skills to our team, from financial knowledge, admin and marketing experience, creative and practical skills, the most important skill we need is friendly volunteers who can make a good cup of tea and coffee at our events!
The FCC fund specific items that have often been requested by the students. These include equipment for the Food and Nutrition, Design Technology and Science departments. We provide much needed refreshments at events, such as parent consultations, sports tournaments and arts festivals. We arrange social events for parents and teachers such as parent consultation days, school production evenings and festivals. More recently we’ve even turned our hand to virtual events like an online Christmas draw!
Annually the FCC raises thousands of pounds for the college. Some of the items we have funded in the past year include:
- Kitchen equipment for Food and Nutrition - £272.58

- Girls Football Team Kit - £1090.68
- Easter Eggs - £177.39
- Boys Football Team Kit - £998.96
- Books - £199
- Cadburys chocolate advent calendars - £545.48
- Easter Sweet treats rewards for the whole school - £250
- Cricket Cages & Scoreboard - £4103.37
- 3 x BBC MICRO:Bit Coding kits for IT - £711.60
- 2 x Digital Cameras & SD cards for GCSE Photography - £680.98

Second Hand Uniform Sales
Christ's College second and uniform sales are hugely popular and a fabulous way for us all to save money along with helping our environment. Our second hand sales rely solely on uniform donations. Uniform collection bins are located in the school main reception and the Larch Building.
The second hand uniform sales are held at the front of the College entrance (outside). Any unwanted uniform items can always be dropped in the collection bins in the main and Larch Building reception areas or at our Secondhand Uniform Sales.

Guildford Community Lottery
Fed up with paying £2 per week on the national lottery?
Why not spend just £1 per week with a much higher chance of winning a large lump of cash locally.
This project in conjunction with Guildford Borough Council Community Lottery supports local initiatives and what’s even better someone in Surrey will win £25,000.
The draw is held every Saturday at 8pm. This is an incredible opportunity to help raise money for Friends of Christ’s College as 50p in every ticket sold comes back to FCC and we all know what that means, more investment and enrichment for every child at Christ's College!
