Music - Instrumental Lessons
Instrumental Lessons are currently available for:
- Drum Kit
- Guitar
- Bass Guitar
- Piano
- Voice
- Flute
- Clarinet
- Saxophone
If you are interested in learning another instrument such as violin, viola, cello, double bass, trumpet, trombone, french horn or tuba, please contact Ms Morrell.
Lessons are timetabled during the school day on a rotational timetable to minimise disruption to students’ academic learning. We recommend a 30 minute lesson per week. Usually there will be 30 lessons scheduled over the year arranged 10 per school term
Benefits
Aside from enjoyment, well being, creativity and social development, numerous studies have shown that music study has neurological and cognitive benefits that enhance students’ academic progress. Students who study music often achieve better academically. Furthermore, participation in extra-curricular activities during school years prove desirable for college and university applications.

Exams
Students can also take additional exams through instrumental study. Exam boards include the ABRSM, Rockschool and Trinity. Higher grade exams carry extra UCAS points for university applications.

Lessons At A Reduced Cost
