SCHOOL COMPETITIONS

Year 8  Inter-House Competition to Design a Careers logo for Christ's College

Our Year 8 students will be taking part in an inter-house competition to design a logo to reflect all we do to support Careers at Christ's College.  We are looking for a design that shows the Core Values of our school community alongside the wide variety of subjects that can be part of our future careers.  The logo will then be used on all our Careers information.

Students will be given the opportunity to take part in this competition during tutor time during week beginning 24th May (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).  Entries must be submitted after tutor time on Friday 28th May 2021.  Entries will be judged over half term.

You can find out more about careers at Christ's College on our website here   https://www.christscollege.surrey.sch.uk/1382/careers-education-guidance  and in the Careers sub-menus.

  • All entries will be judged initially by Our Enterprise M3 Co-ordinator Anstey Brierly and Mrs Hatch to decide a winner from each House.
  • Lindsey Hopkins our Enterprise  Advisor  from  Enterprise M3 will then pick the final Careers logo from the four finalists.
  • Prizes - There will be house points for the winner in each house, and house points and a £10 Amazon voucher will be given to the overall winner.
  • Entries can be given to Mr Annan or given in to the main office by end of tutor time on Friday 28th May, remember to put your name and tutor on entries.
  • Winners will be announced after the May half term.

OTHER COMPETITIONS

Shade Sail Competition    Deadline 11pm 31st May 2021

In conjunction with Friends of Christ's College we have entered an exciting competition with A&S Landscape who are awarding a shade sail to one lucky school. To win this fantastic prize we need to collect the highest number of votes!

Please click here to vote for our school.   We would really love to win this shade for our outdoor space as we have very little shade for students when they are outside.

Once you have voted don’t stop there! Please spread the message with friends, parents and supplier’s websites as well as social media to help us win!

Young Writers  - 100 Word Story Competition - Deadline 27th May 2021

Young Writers is an organisation that runs national writing competitions for schools throughout the academic year.  Each competition they offer has a different theme and can vary between poems or stories and are set for different Key Stages.

Competitions are advertised to Christ's College students through the Creative Writing Competition Google Classroom that students have access to, and also advertised on the My Homework App.

The current 100 word story writing competition is called 'Unsolved' and students should submit their writing via Ms I Johnson so that she can send the entries for the school.

Students are being asked to write a classic 'whodunnit' story, and they are going to need:

  • A victim
  • A crime
  • Suspects
  • Someone to reveal the truth

Remember! Don't reveal too much too soon! As a crime/mystery story writer - keep the reader guessing until the end, so maybe a red herring or two is required...
